Corti d’autore – Azione

In ‘Azione‘ (Action), the great actor and director Gabriele Lavia leads us, with the delicacy of a poet, into the deepest and most hidden folds of theatre, whose purpose, in the words of Shakespeare, ‘was and is to hold up a mirror to nature, to show virtue its true face’. Lavia’s vibrant, piercing voice rips through the desolate surroundings of some of Italy’s most important theatres. An urgent call to Action, a word that fatally closes the most important monologue in the history of theatre, that Hamletian “to be, or not to be” that has always challenged both man and artist.

Directed by Gabriele Lavia, who wrote it with Manlio Castagna, and produced by One More Pictures, the project was selected as part of Corti d’Autore (Auteur Shorts), an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with the National Association of Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Multimedia Industries (ANICA).

It is now available for free here for Fare Cinema 2021.
