The short film ‘Noi italiani parliamo con le mani‘ (We Italians speak with our hands), is the brainchild of the members of the Italian Association of Set Designers, Costume Designers and Decorators (ASC), which has been committed to promoting Italian cinema and theatre professions since 1977.

The ability to come up with creative solutions and overcome difficulties is one of the strengths of our diverse country. An unconscious interdependence links creativity and craftsmanship, as the former would not be able to find its artistic expression if not supported by the latter. This proximity is evident and inevitable in everything that makes a performance. The Cretto di Burri in Gibellina is a symbol of this: where everything was destroyed by the earthquake, a great work of art was born.

Directed by Luca Gregori, with a screenplay by Alida Cappellini and Jonas Carpignano, and produced by Eagle Pictures, the project was selected as part of Corti d’Autore (Auteur Shorts), an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with the National Association of Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Multimedia Industries (ANICA).

It is now available for free here for Fare Cinema 2021.
