‘Vecchio e nuovo’: discovery contemporary art history in Italy.
‘Italia Contemporanea’ is the new documentary series dedicated to the places of contemporary art in Italy, an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with Sky Arte and with the executive production of TIWI.
The third episode, ‘Vecchio e nuovo’ will be broadcasted on 22 May, at 8.45 pm (Italian time), on Sky Arte (channels 120 and 400 of Sky) and is available on demand and in streaming also on NOW, and for free on video.sky.it/arte, here and on italiana Vimeo channel.
Guest of this third appointment is Angela Vettese, curator and art historian, who will allow us to discover old buildings, former factories, archaeological sites that now house works of art. In this episode we will discover contemporary art in historical or renovated locations: from OGR (Officine Grandi Riparazioni) in Turin to the Pirelli Hangar Bicocca in Milan; from the ‘Cavallo di sabbia’ by Mimmo Paladino in Paestum to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Biennale in Venice.
