The Italian Cultural Institute of Cordoba offers an online journey to get to know the Italian writer closely.
A Year with Sciascia
Leonardo Sciascia was born on 8 January 1921 in Racalmuto, a town in the province of Agrigento, Sicily. Writer, journalist, essayist, playwright, poet, politician, art critic and Italian teacher: a man who undoubtedly left his mark in the second half of the twentieth century in Italy and Europe.
The Italian Cultural Institute of Cordoba, in collaboration with the Leonardo Sciascia Foundation in Racalmuto and its artistic coordinator, Fabrizio Catalano (director and grandson of Leonardo Sciascia), begins a journey into the ‘world of Sciascia’, beginning with a portrait-interview of Leonardo Sciascia broadcast in 1981 by the programme ‘Seconda Serata’, directed by Cesare Chiericati and Claudio Pozzoli of the Italian-language Swiss Radio and Television RSI.
