Create a video review of a book and win more books. This is the ‘BookTuberPrize’ challenge: the competition conceived by the Centro Per il Libro e la Lettura (Centre for Books and Reading) of the Ministry of Culture and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is dedicated to promoting literature among teenagers.

The new digital ways to enjoy culture and literature have inspired the competition that builds on the work of booktubers: video-bloggers and influencers active in the publishing industry which inspire the formation of true fan communities.

The initiative is aimed at all students of the Italian language between the ages of 15 and 25 who attend an Italian school anywhere in the world, an Italian language course organized by a promoter body funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a college course taught by a ministerial language assistant or an Italian course from one of the 82 Italian Cultural Institutes around the world.

Participants are asked to create a review in video format of any book or poetry collection by Italian authors.

The aim, in addition to greater student engagement in reading activities, is to inspire greater awareness of books, to aid a more careful and critical analysis.

The deadline for submitting video reviews is 21 May 2021 and up to 500 euros in book vouchers are up for grabs.
