The game will be released under the name “ArtLink! – Farnesina”.
Luca Rosa’s ‘Il Curatore’ (The Curator) is the winning prototype of the Gioco Inedito 2021 competition
Luca Rosa, with the prototype ‘Il Curatore’, is the winner chosen by the Jury of the Gioco Inedito 2021 – Best Game Proposal competition, which this year saw the partnership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the international contest for emerging game designers, organized by Lucca Comics & Games along with dV Giochi.
I was very impressed by the game “Il Curatore” due to a number of elements that are connected first and foremost with my profession as a museum curator. For one, the fact that themes are established and, within these themes, works of art have to be chosen by association. Works are sometimes donated by chance, papers are discovered — this is very similar to what we usually do in museums: we decide to develop a thematic exhibition, which can have a very varied subject matter, and then this subject matter has to be dropped into our collection in a diachronic sense. – Christian Greco, Director of the Egyptian Museum of Turin and Honorary President of the 2021 edition.
The card game will be published under the name ‘ArtLink! – Farnesina’ and will be an original tool for disseminating the works of the Farnesina Collection and exploring them in depth, which aims to bring the younger public (but not exclusively) closer to the idioms, works and leading figures of the Italian art scene – thus promoting, through play, the development of imagination and creativity.
On the occasion of Lucca Comics & Games 2021, a fair dedicated to comics, animation, games, video games and fantasy and science fiction imagery, which will take place in Lucca from 29 October to 1 November, Luca Rosa’s game will be presented to the public during the activities of the international exhibition.
