Sanremo Giovani World Tour is back: the innovative project by the Italian MFA and RAI born in 2019 to promote new talents in Italian music abroad will continue in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
The artistic director and host of the Italian Song Festival, Amadeus, announced it live on the fourth night of the show yesterday, just moments before proclaiming Gaudiano as the winner of the ‘Nuove proposte’ (New Talents) category.
While in 2021 the initiative will take place entirely online, from 2022 on the young artists’ world tours are set to resume. Concerts will be organised all around the globe thanks to the Italian network of Embassies, Consulates and Cultural Institutes. In 2019, the eight concerts held for SGWT in five continents were all sold-out. In 2020 a SGWT special video-concert was broadcast on RaiPremium and RaiItalia and is now available on italiana.
