The Italian Embassy in Sarajevo launches an amateur competition for young Italian students in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Video ‘Sanremo mladih BiH’

At the initiative of the local high school in Sarajevo, the Italian Embassy in Sarajevo has organized a mini festival to engage all Italian students in Bosnia and Herzegovina and their Italian music-loving peers. ‘Sanremo mladih BiH’ stars nineteen students from nine schools in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, Zenica and Visoko performing famous pieces of Italian music.
Videos showing students sing, play and introduce themselves are collected in a playlist on the Embassy’s Facebook Page ‘ItalyinBiH’. The initiative, which ran from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 March, 2021, received thousands of views and likes. Like the Video of Sajra from Sarajevo whose reinterpretation of ‘Sarà perché ti amo’ by Ricchi e Poveri received over 2,500 likes and won the competition’s special prize.
The competition is launched jointly with the Radio Italia radio programme, promoted by the Embassy at the beginning of the pandemic to overcome the lack of events and now promoted by seven stations in as many cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is dedicated to the young student of the First Gymnasium of Sarajevo, Rijad Đulić, who suddenly passed away last week.
