The Italian Cultural Institute of New York launches a new web platform.

“Stanze Italiane”: a new virtual musem to discover Italy

Internet as «a space that must be designed with Italian taste and style, building virtual buildings that have the same elegance and functions of the real ones». “Stanze Italiane”, the web platform created by the newly appointed director of the Italian Cultural Institute in New York, Fabio Finotti, will host the Arts, the Sciences, and the Languages of the Italian civilization.
Ten “Stanze Italiane” will be opened in the first months. Among them, we can mention “Atrio”, dedicated to the Institute, its history, its relationship with New York; “Galleria”, the gallery, to get to know characters and works of Italian art or linked to Italy; “Auditorium”, a space for cinema, music, television and all forms of audio-visual production; “Biblioteca”, the library, to celebrate treasures of the Italian language.
These spaces will come to life thanks to a series of videos, images, interviews and texts all specifically created for the “Stanze Italiane” project with protagonists of the Italian cultural world.
The website, avalaible at www.stanzeitaliane.it, allows – through a digital storytelling design – to browse high-resolution images, which have been transformed into maps of the textual and audio-visual contents of each “Stanza”. «In this space, as articulated and welcoming as a home» says Fabio Finotti «lovers of Italian culture will find what they are looking for: memory and innovation, conversations and insights that intertwine the past and the future».
