205 project proposals have been admitted to the selection of art works for a widespread exhibition of Italian contemporary art in the world of 2021.
The projects selected for ‘Cantica21’
‘Cantica21. Italian Contemporary Art Everywhere‘ is a joint initiative promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation – Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation and by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and for Tourism – Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity, with the goal of promoting and stimulating research and practice of contemporary visual arts, supporting and relaunching the creative skills of Italian artists and creators.
The purpose of Cantica21 is to gather artistic project proposals, with the subsequent production of original works, intended to expand public collections and to become part of a ‘scattered’ art exhibition within the spaces of the diplomatic-consular network and of the Italian Cultural Institutes around the world.
The Notice, divided into three Subsections, received the following submissions:
- for Section A – open to artists or artist collectives up to 35 years of age – 37 project proposals;
- for Section B – open to artists or artist collectives over the age of 35 – 100 project proposals;
- for Section C – for projects dedicated to Dante and related imagery – 68 project proposals.
Thanks to all those who participated in Cantica21.
