The Italian Cultural Institute of Paris publishes online the catalogue for the exhibition of the great Italian photographer.
‘Dondero – Milan/Paris’
In 2017, the Italian Cultural Institute of Paris, in collaboration with Castaldi Partners, paid tribute to Mario Dondero (1928-2015), legend of Italian photojournalism, hosting the exhibition ‘Dondero – Milan/Paris’, a selection of around one hundred black and white photos by Dondero, all taken in 2010 in the two cities in which he lived and worked: Milan and Paris. Dondero loved these two cities profoundly and successfully captured daily life in motion and their poetic soul, the popular dimension and their secret beauty, future-oriented activities and strong cultural roots.
Born in Milan in 1928, Mario Dondero was a great poet of photojournalism, an extraordinary witness of our time who, with his Leica, portrayed wars and social and political conflicts. He also worked as a portrait photographer for writers and artists in Italy and internationally.
Thanks to the publisher Enrico Castaldi, the exhibition catalogue is available online at issuu.com/iicparigi
