The Embassy of Italy in Doha brings the travelling exhibition ‘3CODESIGN‘ to Qatar, a project from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation curated by Silvana Annicchiarico.
The exhibition opened to the public on 16 September at the new Doha Design District from Msheireb Properties, the Embassy’s partner in organising the exhibition in the capital’s new heart, the Msheireb Downtown Doha district.
We are thrilled to be hosting an innovative exhibition project in Doha, one which explores a key theme for the planet through the contemporary work of emerging designers, along with some internationally renowned names. This entails ensuring a sustainable human presence by adopting a new creative approach to design, based on reducing waste, recycling waste and the transformation of that which has already been used. This need has now become an emergency due to the rapid process of progressive environmental degradation and climate change. – Alessandro Prunas, Italian Ambassador to Qatar
The vernissage of the exhibition was also attended by one of the artists featured in the show, the ecosocial artist Luca Gnizio, an up-and-coming designer whose eco-sustainable design aims to transform all kinds of industrial waste into valuable resources and lessons in ethics.
