The Italian Cultural Institute Dublin presents a series of five live exhibitions on contemporary Italian illustration from 21 March to 30 November in the premises of its historic headquarters in Fitzwilliam Square.
The initiative, which marks a return to in-person events after months of digital content and online events, aims to bring lovers of Italian culture back to its quintessential Dublin location, the building that has housed the Institute of Culture for almost 70 years, while providing an interesting and contemporary look at the Italian Illustration.
The scheduled exhibitions feature five Italian artists (Mario Sughi, Valeria Petrone, Giulio Vesprini, Daniele Trombetti, Fabio Sardo) and one Irish artist (Shane O’Driscoll), all of whom demonstrate different ways and perspectives of approaching illustration and painting. In other words, the works on display differ in style, the situations they describe and their target audience. It is therefore a kaleidoscope of impressions and points of view.
