The Italian Cultural Institute of New York presents, from 18 to 25 May, the exhibition entitled ‘Venice Original‘, a selection of objects of authentic Venetian craftsmanship.
On May 25, the ‘Venice Original’ e-commerce project and the new guide that tells all the authentic / original craftsmen of Venice will also be presented to the public, two years after the launch of the initiative and one year after the portal went online.
‘Venice Original’ is a platform that brings together and over 120 Venetian artisans, their products and their stories, in order to present a lively, productive and creative Venice, and its intangible cultural heritage, consisting of the best Venetian craftsmanship.
The site aims to introduce the true artisans of the city, their techniques, their history and the many unique and precious objects they produce, with the possibility of buying them online and receiving them, comfortably and securely, directly at home. Objects that become memories, experiences and people, a synthesis of the best – and most original – Venetian know-how.
The project was born from an initiative of the CNA Metropolitana of Venice, developed thanks to the contribution of J.P. Morgan, with the patronage of the Municipality of Venice and the Chamber of Commerce of Venice and Rovigo, to support Venetian artisanal companies, affected by the double emergency of “high water” and the global health crisis.
