On the occasion of the Feria Internacional de Libro de Guadalajara 2021, as part of the Festival de Letras Europeas, Antonio Scurati is being interviewed by Leonardo Curzio in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Mexico City and the Embassy of Italy in Mexico.
Scurati will discuss his new novel, which has just been translated into Spanish, ‘M. L’uomo della provvidenza‘ (M: The Man of Providence). It is a sequel to ‘M. Il figlio del secolo‘ (M: Son of the Century, winner of the Strega Prize in 2019), both of which are based on the figure of Mussolini.
Antonio Scurati (Naples, 1969) is Professor of Contemporary Literature at IULM in Milan and has directed the Centre for the Study of the Language of War and Violence at the University of Bergamo. He also collaborates with the press and is the author of numerous essays and novels. With ‘M: Son of the Century’ a work that has set the standard in the way fascism is narrated and which has been published in over forty countries, Scurati has achieved unprecedented success in Italy, receiving the Strega Prize 2019.
Leonardo Curzio (Mexico City, 1962) has a degree in Political Sociology and a PhD in History. In his professional career he is a journalist, professor and scientific researcher. He has published ten books, co-authored over forty publications and written several scientific articles with Mexican, US and Spanish publishers.
