The Italian Cultural Institute of Stockholm, in collaboration with the Swedish organisation Audiorama, the Italian gallery SpazioErsetti and the City of San Vito al Tagliamento, is contributing to the Italian awareness-raising campaign on issues related to violence against women entitled ‘red benches’, inaugurating a sound bench in its outdoor spaces.
The installation, selected through the call ‘The Red Sound Bench‘, is by the Swedish designer Jonas Wahlström and plays a sound work related to the topic of violence against women.
Ljudbänken (the sound bench) is a touring installation created for the first time in 2017 as part of a three-year public art project that involved Audiorama and Stockholms Konst. The bench was mainly placed in different places in the city of Stockholm but also in other Swedish cities. In 2020 the ‘Ljudbänken’ project arrived in Italy, in Udine and later in San Vito al Tagliamento.
The installation will be open during the institution’s opening hours from 8 March to 17 April 2021. For more information, please visit iicstoccolma.esteri.it
