The ICPNA, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Lima , presents the exhibition ‘Camandona: riscatto e antologia’ (Camandona: A Redemption and Anthology), curated by contemporary art critic Élida Román. It is a tribute to the work of the Italian artist Ugo Camandona, who exerted a great influence on the artists of his generation. The exhibition first opened on 27 January and will remain open until 26 March at the premises of the ICPNA.
This exhibition is the product of extensive research and includes previously unseen documents. The works show the different aspects and stages of Ugo Camandona’s artistic process, revealing the wide variety of his trajectory as an artist. Italian by birth, a Piedmontese who reclaimed his roots with sober pride, Ugo Camandona arrived in Peru in 1954, at the age of 30 and with a broad and diverse range of creative experience and technical knowledge.
