The Contemporary Art Day (Giornata del Contemporaneo) is an annual event to celebrate and promote contemporary art, now in its fourteenth edition in Italy.
This year, for the first time, the initiative is also launched abroad, thus becoming the I International Festival “Giornata del Contemporaneo – Day of Italian Contemporary Art”: around 80 Embassies, Consular Offices and Italian Cultural Institutes subscribed to the initiative by organizing, from 8 to 13 October, more than 80 events, debates, presentations, exhibitions focusing on the theme of contemporary art culture, seeking to shine the light not only artists and works, but also producers, curators, organizers, museum directors, critics, magazines and art books.
The event is promoted by the Associazione dei Musei d’Arte Contemporanea Italiani and supported by the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and for Tourism.
