The Italian Cultural Institute of Dakar is taking part in the third edition of Dakar Music Expo (DMX) from 3 to 6 February. Four days of events in the heart of the capital with great music, international guests and professionals from the West African music industry.
DMX is West Africa’s leading music platform run by Doudou Sarr, cultural entrepreneur, artistic director and agent for internationally renowned artists such as Youssou N’dour. The programme includes workshops, master classes and panels aimed at fostering the exchange of experiences and contributing to the professional growth of the new generation of artists and music professionals in Africa.
A selection of showcases and concerts with a strong focus on new creative proposals completes the programme, offering an insight into the great potential of contemporary African music. Among the showcases, the Cultural Institute presents a set from Khalab (Raffaele Costantino), journalist, music expert and producer who, with his original mix of African sounds, jazz and electronics, will also be the star of an artistic residency in Senegal. The event will take place on February 5 at the Maison de la Culture Douta Seck.
