Last autumn, editors from the publisher Kleiner Flug, specialised in graphic novels with a focus on the biographies of illustrious artists, historical figures and literary adaptations, were invited to the Italian Cultural Institute of Montréal to talk about the publishing house’s activities, on the occasion of XX Week of the Italian Language in the World entitled “Italian in words and pictures: graffiti, illustrations and comic strips.”
This encounter sewed the seeds of an ambitious and exciting project. Conceived, supported and promoted by the Institute and the publisher Kleiner Flug, the project is to tell the story, after the love discussed in ‘Dante Alighieri, Amor mi mosse’, of the three other major themes of the Supreme Poet: friendship, politics and exile.
The second volume, ‘Le fangose genti’, which will be written by Marco Cei, editor of the series ‘Teatro tra le Nuvole’, and illustrated by Genny Ferrari, already author under Kleiner Flug of ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’, is presented on the website iicmontreal.esteri.it
