For Dantedì 2021 the Forum for Italian in Switzerland has organized, in collaboration with Italian Cultural Institute of Zurich, a travelling event available to be streamed. Four stages, one for each linguistic region, recall the three canticles of the Divine Comedy and the fate of the author Dante.
The impressive Creux du Van is the scene of Inferno. In the delightful Val Lumnezia the noblest region of Purgatory is re-proposed with the earthly paradise. The summit of Monte S. Salvatore takes the viewer’s gaze even higher, up to Paradise. Baden, one of the most popular places for Italian emigration to Switzerland, reminds us that Dante composed his masterpiece in the hard years of exile from his beloved Florence.
In each town, after opening words, personalities from culture and entertainment read and comment on some of Dante’s verses in Italian and in the local language. Participants include Lorenzo Tomasin, Paolo Borsa, Omar Porras, Chasper Pult, Alex Nay and Marcus Hobi, Astrid Alexandre, Fabio Pusterla, Daniele Finzi Pasca, Johannes Bartuschat, Pippo Pollina, Roberto Petroli and Stefania Verità.
Experience the atmosphere of the event with illustrations by Marcello Toninelli, author of a Divine Comedy comic!
The live-stream will start at 10:00 am on 25 March on the website of Dantedì in Switzerland. The complete programme of the event is available on the website of the Italian Cultural Institute of Zurich.
