The Embassy of Italy in Buenos Aires and director Antonio Cervi pay tribute to the great writer Leonardo Sciascia, on the centenary of his birth, with the production of the documentary ‘Sicilitudine‘. The video invites you to discover the great variety and importance of the Sicilian author through the testimonies of some contemporary Argentine intellectuals.

Sciascia was one of the most important Italian intellectuals of the last century, whose work continues to be of great relevance today and also exerts an important influence on writers and film-makers in Argentina. Writer, journalist but also politician, Italian and European deputy, he is the author of unforgettable books such as ‘The Day of the Owl’, ‘The Disappearance of Maiorana’, ‘One Way or Another’ and ‘To Each His Own’. Many of his novels have also inspired films that have become classics of Italian and world cinema.
