As part of the first virtual series ‘La musica nel cinema’ (Music in Film), the Sociedad Filarmónica de Lima, thanks to the support of the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Lima, presents ‘Entre el sonido y la imagen’, soundtrack of three illustrious short films that have marked the history of silent film, curated by the Italian pianist Orazio Sciortino.

The films given live sound include ‘A Straightforward Boy’ (1929), a short film by Yasujirō Ozu, and for which Sciortino interprets a selection of compositions for piano by Francis Poulenc; ‘L’Etoile de mer’ (1928) by Man Ray, for which the pianist has created an original piece; and ‘L’Assassinat du duc de Guise’ (1908), directed by André Calmettes and Charles Le Bargy, with original music by Camille Saint-Saëns.

The shorts will be streamed on Saturday 14 August on the social channels of the Sociedad Filarmónica de Lima.
