Four events to promote Italian film, including preview screenings and streaming video-concerts.

On the occasion of Fare Cinema 2021, the Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid offers a wide range of free events, to accompany the public to discover Italian cinema and its industry.

  • 14 June: screening of ‘Reboot. Il cinema italiano riparte‘, the video series produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with Fondazione Cinema per Roma, dedicated to the Italian movie industry with interviews with some of the protagonists of Italian cinema.The screening will be preceded by a talk with the producer Antonello Novellino and the director Giovanni Macelli, moderated by the director of the Institute Marialuisa Pappalardo, to discuss about the ‘state of the art’ of the Italian and Spanish film industry.
  • 15  June: restreaming on the Institute’s Vimeo channel of the concert ‘Music is dangerous‘ by and with Nicola Piovani (piano), accompanied by Marina Cesari (sax) and Marco Loddo (bass), hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Madrid. Maestro Piovani shares with the public experiences, memories and emotions of over forty years of career in the movie industry.
  • 16 June: premiere of the film ‘The Bad Poet’ by Gianluca Jodice, with Sergio Castellitto.
  • 21 June: as final event of Fare Cinema 2021, and on the occasion of the World Music Day, the Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid pays tribute to the maestro Ennio Morricone, with a concert by Leandro Piccioni and the Pessoa Quartet, recorded in the Forum Music Village in Rome. The concert, which brings together some of the great composer’s masterpieces, was premiered for the inauguration of the XIII Festival de Cine Italiano de Madrid and will be broadcast on the Institute’s Vimeo channel.
