The digital art performance was held on December 9, on the occasion of the closing of the Italian cultural year in Argentina and as part of the 17th edition of the Contemporary Art Day promoted by AMACI (Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums). Designed by four Italian art studios (Apparati Effimeri, Antaless Visual Design, Mou Factory and THE FAKE FACTORY), the performance turned the facade of Palazzo Alvear, the headquarters of the Italian Embassy in Buenos Aires, into a screen.
The theme chosen for the performance – ‘Do humans need humans? Digital Humanism in the XXI Century’ – is a reflection on the evolution of the relationship between humans and technologies throughout history, in all areas, including new media art.
The event – organized by the Italian Embassy in Argentina and the Italian Cultural Institute of Buenos Aires – is part of the international project ‘Farnesina Digital Art Experience‘, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with Bright Festival.
