On 29 June, the Italian Cultural Institute of Paris will present a lecture by Gabrielle Gamberini on the issue of diplomatic relations between France and the Republic of Venice.

Gabrielle Gamberini, the translator of Donna Leon, will analyze diplomatic relations between France and the ‘Serenissima’ State of Venice throughout history, from the 9th to the 19th centuries, and will show how the cultural links established over a long period of time have intensified in recent years. Marie-Christine Jamet, Honorary Consulate of France in Venice, will present an example of the beautiful cultural synergy through Casino Venier (Serge Safran Editeur, 2021), a collection of stories inspired by this unique place, which is now home to the Alliance française de Venise.
