‘Futura’ is the project created to support the promotion of Italian music abroad, as a result of the collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Italia Music Lab foundation. It consists of a music video archive that includes performances by Italian artists who over the past two years have played during the digital editions of many showcase festivals around the world.
Waves Vienna is the showcase festival held every year in the Austrian capital. “East meets West’ is the motto of the event, which features local and international artists and, in particular, each edition focuses on an Eastern and a Western European country. The 2020 edition included a performance by Eugenia Post Meridiem, an indie-folk band with a pronounced inclination to 60s and 70s psychedelic contaminations.
WOMEX – Worldwide Music Expo – is the most international and culturally diverse music meeting in the world and the biggest conference of the global music scene, featuring a trade fair, talks, films and showcase concerts. In 2020, the Italian trio Fanfara Station performed digitally for the festival. A project that brings the power of a brass band and electronics to North African vocals and percussions, paying tribute to the epic feats of the Mediterranean’s migrants, the musical cultures of the African diaspora and southern Europe’s ancient links to the Middle East, the Maghreb and the Americas.
