From 16 July the Italian Cultural Institute of Brussels will host the original exhibition ‘Il cappellaio pazzo’ (The Mad Hatter), conceived by Giuliano De Minicis. The stars of the exhibition are the famous straw hats, specially made in the most diverse materials which demonstrate the imagination, creativity and skills of the ‘Master Hatters’ of Montappone.
The exhibition owes its name to the famous character in Alice in Wonderland, a symbol of the desire, hidden in everyone, to break free from the constraints and limitations of time to express themselves through following their imagination. Visiting the exhibition is like entering the ‘wonderland’ itself, an original and unique space for the skills and flair of those who have long dedicated themselves to the art of hat making.
