As part of the initiatives planned for Italian Design Day 2021, the Embassy of Italy in Buenos Aires presents the virtual exhibition ‘Il design dei gesti’ (The Design of Gestures), which brings together design objects selected by the designer Massimo Borgia and professor Francesco Schianchi.

The exhibition project aims to highlight the relationship between design and everyday gestures by showing how Italian industrial design – which applies aesthetics and artistic research to industrial products – brings art and beauty into everyday life.

The objects on display include the ‘Candela’ lamp designed for the Italian company Astep by Francisco Gomez Paz, an Argentine designer who lives and works in Italy, and the ‘Mezzaluna’ by Viceversa, which was awarded the ‘Compasso d’Oro’ and is emblematic of the successful combination of everyday use and design reinvention.
