On 25 April, to mark the occasion of Liberation Day, the Italian Cultural Institute of Brussels presents the screening of the documentary by Paolo Soglia and Lorenzo K. Stanzani ‘The forgotten front: The resistance in Bologna’.

The directors will be taking part in the event via a digital connection from Italy.

The film highlights a hitherto unexplored aspect of the Second World War: the life of a city, Bologna, which was on the so-called Gothic Line, the border between liberated Italy and the Nazi-Fascist occupation. Through documents and materials, some of which have never been seen before, the documentary traces the historical events that affected the entire city of Bologna in the period between 1943 and 1945.
