On the occasion of the 77th Anniversary of the Liberation, the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo presents on 26 April the online conference entitled ’25 April – Feast of the Liberation of Italy: history and meanings’.
The conversation will be introduced by the director of the Institute Davide Scalmani, moderated by Anna Rita Ronzoni and with the participation of the historian Davide Conti and Fabrizio De Sanctis, National Association of Italian Partisans.
25 April is a symbolic date of the War of Liberation, chosen by the Italian Republic to commemorate the conclusion of the bloody conflict, the end of the brutal and merciless Nazi occupation and the definitive collapse of fascism.
This day represents for Italians the civil celebration of the reconquest of freedom. The victory of humanity over barbarism. The day of a new beginning, full of enthusiasm, brought to fruition with the 1948 Republican Constitution.
