On 28 June, the Federico Fellini hall of the Italian Cultural Institute of Budapest hosts the show ‘In nome della madre’, directed by Gianluca Barbadori .
Based on the short novel of the same name by Erri de Luca (‘In the name of the mother’), the performance tells the biblical story of the annunciation to the blessed Virgin Mary in the simple and clear language of poetry. Miriàm/Maria, played by Galatea Ranzi, shares her personal experiences with the audience in the first person and invites them to convey her message of love, courage and hope.
The show, in Italian with Hungarian subtitles, is produced by the Teatro Biondo of Palermo in collaboration with the Ponte tra Culture Cooperative, under the patronage of the Marche Region.
