From 31 March to 30 April, part of the activities of the programme ‘Italia Energía Creativa’, the Italian Cultural Institute of Santiago presents ‘Arte y Energía. La búsqueda de la salvación como compromiso’ (Art and Energy: The Search for Salvation as a Commitment), an exhibition by Marco Angelini.
The proposed exhibition, inaugurated in the presence of the artist, promotes the creative force of Italian art, science and innovation.
With the support of the Embassy of Italy in Chile and the patronage of ENEL, ‘Arte y Energía. La búsqueda de la salvación como compromiso’ consists of thirteen works by Marco Angelini, an Italian artist who has held numerous exhibitions in Rome and Warsaw, with an interest in urban phenomena, focusing his expressive research on the use of matter as a substitute for canvas.
Through his thirteen mixed media pieces on canvas, made with fragments of photovoltaic panels and photovoltaic cells, Marco Angelini‘s latest work invites us to pay attention to the possibilities of sustainable production and development, seeking to expand the dialogue between environmental sustainability and artistic practice.
All of Angelini’s work is substantially linked to these elements: on the one hand, the awareness of having a boundary, a time before catastrophe and, on the other, how technology can mean salvation. Through the sensory, the sensorial, art plays a decisive role in public and collective space-time; a paradigm that has the indispensable function of finding meaning in everything.’- Raffaelle Gavarro, curator of the exhibition.
