For the Day of Contemporary Art 2022 the Italian Institute of Culture in Kyiv presents a talk on contemporary art, in collaboration with the magazine Nova Express. The event is curated by Gianluigi Ricuperati (Ukraine Pavilion at the Milan Triennale) and Sergey Kantsedal.
I am proud of the fact that our cultural programming is continuing, despite the great difficulties in recent times. As part of the Day of Contemporary Art, the Italian Institute of Culture in Kyiv invited to Lviv Gianluigi Ricuperati, writer and curator (together with Lidia Liberman and Anastasia Stovbyr) of ‘Planeta Ukrain’, a pavilion dedicated to contemporary Ukrainian culture, to Lviv, as part of the 23rd Milan Trienniale. I would like to thank Gianluigi Ricuperati and the artists who will give life to the White Hole event in Lviv, in which engages in dialogue Italian and Ukrainian artists and intellectuals. This event will serve as a prelude to an original project being devised by Gianluigi Ricuperati, that will involve important Ukrainian cultural institutes during 2023. I would also like to the thank the Sheptytsky Centre at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, which will host the event.
These were the words of ambassador Pier Francesco Zazo, talking about the White Hole event this week in Lviv, on Thursday 20 October, at the Sheptytsky Centre (Catholic University).
Contemporary art proves to be a formidable instrument of cultural diplomacy, capable of building a creative bridge between Italy and Ukraine
concluded Ambassador Zazo.
