In the framework of the 17th edition of Italian Contemporary Art Day, the Italian Cultural Institute in Chicago presents ‘Dis-connect: engaging with distance in performance art‘, an online webinar on December 10, 2021.
The Italian Cultural Institute in Chicago intends to reflect on what it means to create and curate performance art while faced with the absence of public as a special condition and not a conceptual paradigm; the program aims at unveiling hurdles and opportunities that come with rethinking how we relate to others, while considering the role of new media and questions of accessibility.
The presenting panel will include independent curator Mistura Allison, artist Marina Cavadini, and Asha Iman Veal, Independent Curator and Assistant Professor Adj. at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The panel will be moderated by Teresa Silva, Executive Director at the Chicago Artists Coalition.
