From 6 to 11 December 2021, the Italian Cultural Institute of Dublin will take part in the celebrations of the 17th Italian Contemporary Art Day, the major event promoted by AMACI – the Associazione dei Musei d’Arte Contemporanea Italiani, which for seventeen years has involved museums, foundations, public and private institutions, galleries, artist’s studios and spaces in expressing the vitality of contemporary art in our country.
As part of the 2021 edition, the Italian Cultural Institute of Dublin is offering three online guided tours in collaboration with the Artaway Association, a platform that enables interaction between qualified guides and participants to discover Italian art and artistic movements.
Programme:
- 7 December 2021. Milano e il Futurismo (Milan and Futurism – event in English)
- 8 December 2021. Napoli e l’arte contemporanea (Naples and Contemporary Art – event in Italian)
- 14 December Street Art in Italia (Street Art in Italy – event in English)
Attendance is free, with booking required.
In addition, from 6 to 11 December, the ‘Italia Contemporanea‘ series, already broadcast in May on the Sky Arte Italia channel, will be made available on Vimeo: four episodes to discove contemporary art in Italy, covering the most representative works, the most famous museums as well as the most secretive or elusive spaces.
Finally, on 10 December, the permanent installation ‘Farnesina Digital Art Experience (F: DAE) Micro-mapping‘ will be inaugurated at the Italian Institute of Culture. The performance will reproduce the extraordinary video art performance created by 14 Italian artistic studios on the occasion of a live event held in Rome in December 2019.
