'The Best Years' by Gabriele Muccino and 'Thou Shalt Not Hate' by Mauro Mancini are the two Italian titles being presented at the Festival.

Two films by Italian directors will be presented in the annual selection of the 35th edition of the Washington DC International Film Festival (Filmfest DC), held from 4 June to 13 June 2021. These are the films: ‘The Best Years’ (2020) by Gabriele Muccino, a saga that weaves together the stories of four friends over 40 years against the backdrop of an Italy moving through various successes and failures, and ‘Thou Shalt Not Hate’ (2021), the debut film by director Mauro Mancini, previously presented at the International Critics’ Week at the 77th Venice International Film Festival.

The selection of films for the 35th edition of the festival includes a line-up of 60 unreleased films from 35 different countries around the world, which will be screened over 10 days, also virtually.
