From 4 to 24 May, the Topola Culture Centre, in collaboration with theItalian Cultural Institute of Belgrade, will host the posthumous exhibition of photographs by architect Nemanja Bogdanovic, titled ‘L’Italia come non l’avete mai vista’ (Italy as You Have Never Seen It Before).
The author of the photographs on display, having travelled across Italy over the course of ten years, has immortalized his favourite places, their everyday life and many unforgettable moments with his mobile phone. He travelled about thirty thousand kilometres, visiting several hundred places in eighteen of the twenty Italian regions, and took several thousand photographs with his smartphone. This exhibition welcomes a selection of these photographs.
The photographs chosen present our country seen through the eyes of the Serbian photographer. From Venice to Verona, from the lakes of Garda and Como to Milan, from Piedmont to Genoa, passing through Bologna, Florence, the enchanting Tuscany, Umbria – the green heart of Italy -, Rome the Eternal City and Lazio, to Matera, European capital of culture 2019, and to the fairy-tale Alberobello and Sicily.
Nemanja Bogdanovic passed away suddenly in May 2021 at the age of just 34.
