The Italian Cultural Institute of Jakarta pays a tribute to Renata Tebaldi on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of her birth, in collaboration with the Renata Tebaldi Foundation.
The event, which will be held on 30 June 2022 at the multifunctional hall of the Italian Cultural Institute of Jakarta, is organised in a hybrid mode: in presence at the muntifunctional hall of the Institute and live streaming on the YouTube channel and on the Fecebook page of the Institute.
Musicologist Aditya Setiadi will lead a talk on the figure of the great Italian diva together with soprano Aning Katamsi, mezzo-soprano Catharina Leimena, and tenor Pharel Silaban. This will be followed by a mini-recital featuring some of Renata Tebaldi’s famous arias from Italian opera.
During the talk, the audience will have the opportunity to learn more about the figure of Renata Tebaldi, her life, the period in which she lived, her favourite repertoire, the characters she interpreted and the important stages of her career, as well as her veristic approach to both opera and vocal pedagogy.
