The Italian Cultural Institute of Helsinki presents the performance ‘Jessica and Me‘ by Cristiana Morganti, a dancer who had a long solo career with Pina Bausch’s Tanztheater Wuppertal.
The performance, scheduled for 9 and 10 October at the Kuopio City Theater, is an autobiographical portrait of the dancer herself, reflecting on her relationship with dance and her ageing body. The contrast between her classical dance studies and the two decades she spent in Pina Bausch’s Company is on display, combined with a biting sense of humour, which come together to tell the touching story of an artist who is full of vitality.
The show ‘Jessica and Me‘ won the Danza & Danza Critic Award in 2014. It was broadcast on Italian television and taken on tour to several cities and festivals.
