The Italian Cultural Institute of Kiev presents a double musical event with the classical guitar of Maestro Simone Onnis, who performs in Lviv and Kiev a programme of pieces by F. Tarrega, J. K. Mertz and M. Giuliani.
It is with great pleasure that I announce that Maestro Simone Onnis, a virtuoso of the classical guitar who has played in the world’s most prestigious theatres, a truly versatile performer, former pupil and assistant of Alirio Diaz, will perform in Ukraine – first in Lviv, at the National Opera House (on 29 September), then in Kiev, at the Philharmonic (on 1 October). Maestro Onnis, in agreement with our Institute of Culture, wanted to include his tour at this dramatic moment in his busy schedule, precisely to show his affection and closeness to the Ukrainian people

Music confirms itself as an extraordinary vehicle of peace and closeness between our two peoples. I would like to thank Maestro Onnis, first of all, for his availability and enthusiasm, the director of the Lviv National Opera House Vasyl Vovkun and the director of the Kiev Philharmonic Dmytro Ostapenko for their precious hospitality and cooperation. I am proud of the fact that Italy is still present with one of its cultural outposts in Ukraine, a nation that considers culture essential in all its manifestations, not only as a spiritual form of recreation and entertainment, but also as a channel for the protection of its European identity
