As part of the Havana Design Biennial, the Centro ReDi (Restauración y Diseño) will host the Day of Italian Design in Cuba on 26 May. The event, organised thanks to the collaboration between the Italian Embassy in Havana, the ICE Office, Oficina Nacional de Diseño and Oficina del Historiador de La Habana will be dedicated to the universe of coffee, ranging from industrial design to giftware and interior design.
The lecture by the ambassador of Italian design, arch. David Dolcini, will focus on the relationship between the world of coffee and the world of design, with a focus on sustainability and lifestyle. The same day will also see the presentation of the results of the ‘Quedamos para un café’ competition, which will enable the winning young Cuban designers to spend a training period in Italy.
The Design Day is preceded by a series of seminars, which will take place at the ReDi Centre from 23 May.
