Following the Inauguration on 13 October at the Farnesina, the 22nd edition of the Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo, on the theme L’italiano e i giovani. Come scusa? Non ti followo, gets into full swing, with dozens of events around the world, from 17 to 23 October 2022.
The Italian Cultural Institute of Dublin will participate again this year, with a rich calendar of free events, live and online, dedicated to students but also to simple lovers of the Italian language.
It starts on 17 October with the Italian Student Day, open doors for the Institute’s Italian L2 students with free conversation lessons; followed by a commented screening of the award-winning film Il Giovane Favoloso by Mario Martone.
On 18 October, at the Italian Department of the University College of Cork, there will be a musical meeting-show Rap and Literature, with special guest Muburutu, alias Alessio Mariani, a unique voice on the Italian rap scene for his ability to combine hip hop with literature, philosophy and history.
The programme continues on 19 October with a webinar on the promotion of Italian through social media entitled ‘Italiangram’: teachers and content creators meet; in the evening, a special episode dedicated to SLIM will also be broadcast on Radio Dublin, with interviews with the winning students of the competition ‘A podcast in Italian’.
Finally, on 20 and 21 October, sports journalist and linguist Andrea De Benedetti will hold a series of two meetings addressing the use and evolution of the Italian language from two different but very topical perspectives, those of sport and gender issues.
