In May, the Italian Cultural Institute in Copenhagen presented the interactive show ‘The poetic solution’, which was written and directed by Federica Altieri and staged in Denmark by theAssociazione Appercezioni. The show is a tribute to one of the greatest intellectuals of our time: Valerio Magrelli, the poet, writer, translator and literary and academic critic.
Using poetic language and Magrelli’s anthropological vision of contemporary society, an eclectic cast of artists presented the audience with an itinerant and immersive journey on which music, acting, video art, performances, installations and photography meet.
The show is based on Magrelli’s verses, translated for the first time ever into Danish by Ole Meyer. The work – going by the title Den Poetiske Løsning – is supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Danish government and the Associazione culturale Appercezioni, published by the Danish publishing house Antipyrine and edited by Ulrik Skeel and Federica Altieri with an introduction by Giorgio Patrizi.
Both the show and the publication of Den Poetiske Løsning are part of a commitment by the Italian Cultural Institute in Copenhagen to promote and spread contemporary Italian poetry in Denmark.
The show was created with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Copenhagen, the Danish state, Odin Teatret, the Municipality of Holstebro and the Associazione Appercezioni.
