The Embassy of Italy in Algeria and the Italian Cultural Institute of Algiers have the honour of inviting the Algerian public to the vernissage of the exhibition “Eyes On Tomorrow, Young Italian Photography in the World” to be held on 8 June at the Italian Cultural Institute of Algiers. The exhibition will then be open to the public from 9 June to 30 July 2022.

“Eyes on Tomorrow. Young Italian Photography in the World‘ is a project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Municipality of Reggio Emilia. It is a large widespread exhibition, created to enhance the photographic works of young artists outside national borders, ideally linking the five continents through the most recent expressions of our country’s photography. The first stages were inaugurated on the occasion of the Giornata del Contemporaneo 2021, the event promoted by AMACI – Associazione dei Musei d’Arte Contemporanea Italiani (Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums), which for seventeen years has involved museums, foundations, public and private institutions, galleries, studios and artists’ spaces, and which in 2021, too, has availed itself of the collaboration of the General Directorate for the Promotion of the Country System.

Eyes on Tomorrow, which involves 39 young artists entrusted with the task of representing Italy in the world, enhances and amplifies on the international scene the experience of Young Italian Photography, a free open call promoted by the Municipality of Reggio Emilia. Now in its 9th edition in 2021, Giovane Fotografia Italiana has become a point of reference on the national art scene for the discovery and valorisation of emerging talents in Italian photography, with a special focus on research characterised by an experimental approach.

The selection of artists participating in Eyes on Tomorrow comes from the pool of past editions of Giovane Fotografia Italiana and combines high artistic quality with the variety of research currently underway in Italian photography.
