Their music comes from a faraway land, the land of Tadjiguinie, an imaginary state of mind, the country of the ‘tarantella-gitanoguinguette’, which finds its borders between France, Italy and the Balkans. They are called Les Trois Lézards (‘the three lizards’), the folk music group that will be the guest of honour at the 2021 edition of Kaustinen Folk Music Festival, the traditional music festival organized in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Helsinki.
Les Trois Lézards are:
- Roberto Chiga tambourine, voice
- Giovanni Chirico baritone sax, voice
- Giorgio Distante bass tuba, trumpet
- Emanel Ferrari accordion, voice
Roberto, Giovanni, Giorgio and Emanuel are 4 Italian musicians who decided to experiment with a project combining languidly poetic atmospheres and moments of hypnotic trance, from disco to techno music, passing through French waltz and Balkan music. Their songs are all composed with acoustic sounds and without the aid of digital technology.
The Kaustinen Folk Music Festival, scheduled from 12 to 18 July, this year takes place in a hybrid mode, with limited-entry live concerts, and extensive online programming visible on VirtualKaustinen. The virtual programme offers both free and paid concerts.
