As part of the new international research project ‘Beyond Borders‘, the company Instabili Vaganti presents the brand new production ‘Lockdown Memory in Sweden, on tour to five different locations in the south of the country (Gothenburg, Halmstad, Falkenberg, Kungälv, Atran).

The tour is organized in collaboration with Teater Albatross, and Tokalynga Teater Akademi in Atran, with the support and collaboration of the Italian Cultural Institute of Stockholm and ATER Fondazione.

Lockdown Memory‘ is a conference-performance that fully belongs to the category of reality theatre, capable of putting the new languages of multimedia in dialogue with those of the stage and conveying the complexity of an innovative project such as ‘Beyond Borders’. Theatre, video art and documentary film are intertwined through a long-distance collaboration with artists from all over the world.

Textual notes, visual notes, physical and musical scores, zoom conversations and scenes from the daily life of the artists involved are the dramaturgical fragments in the making that bounce off the walls of an quarantined room in search of a single glimmer, the one virtual window open to the world in the times of the difficult limitations imposed by the pandemic.

From their desks, the actors on stage also take care of the video direction, reliving the different moments and situations that arose during the lockdown, ranging between hyper-connectivity and isolation, in a story that transcends the individual, bringing voice to dramas and stories from all over the world to life: from the Black Lives Matter protest movement in the United States, to the social upheaval in Chile, to the mass exodus from Indian megacities, to the return to normalcy, after the tragedy, in the city of Wuhan.
