“Marcello, come here!”. The famous phrase with which Anita Ekberg invites Marcello Mastroianni to follow her into the Trevi Fountain in the film “La Dolce Vita” lives again on the screens of the Ourfilm studio in Chongqing, Yubei district, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the actor’s death, who starred in unforgettable films by Federico Fellini. The event, which is part of the Fare Cinema 2021 festival, is designed to offer Chinese audiences a spotlight on great Italian film, across two days – 18 and 19 June 2021 – dedicated to Marcello Mastroianni.

The retrospective includes the screening of two major classics by Fellini, in which Mastroianni played the leading role: ‘La Dolce Vita’ winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 1960 and the visionary ‘8½’, the film that best showcases the magical, fairy-tale, mysterious and obsessive universe of the Rimini master’s ‘fare cinema’ (filmmaking).

The festival is divided into two parts: the first part will feature talks by experts in the field, who will illustrate the cinematographic characteristics of the films presented, while each screening will be followed by a short debate.
