As part of the Musicology Sessions Festival, and in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Belgrade and the Belgrade Festivals Centre (CEBEF), the Bitefartcafe hosts two concerts by the Italian singer-songwriter Mario Biondi, on 9 and 10 June at the Bitefartcafe Summer Stage.
Mario Biondi, Italian singer and composer, has since 2003 been among the new Italian soul and jazz inspired sounds. His timbre has often been compared to that of the greats of soul music, such as the famous Barry White. His inspiration undoubtedly includes the sounds of Isaac Hayes, Al Jarreau and Lou Rawls. In his extensive career, he has played with great Italian and international musicians including Califano, Bongusto, Fiorello and Ray Charles.
He first performed in Belgrade as part of the Musicology Sessions in 2014. This time, he will be presenting his fans with ‘Romantic’, his new album released in March, which Biondi considers his most personal work. ‘Romantic’ talks about love in all its forms, harking back to the sounds of the 1970s.
