Raphael, Mantegna, Giovanni Bellini, Lorenzo Lotto, Francesco Hayez: the biggest names in modern Italian painting are flying to Shanghai.
From 12 August 2021 to 3 January 2022 the Bund One Art Museum in the Chinese city will host the exhibition ‘Maestri: Dal Rinascimento all’Ottocento’ (Masters: From the Renaissance to the 19th Century), produced by TIX Media, in collaboration with the Carrara Academy of Bergamo and Arthemisia.
An area of about 2000 square meters will host 54 paintings ranging from the mid-fifteenth to the mid-nineteenth century, great masterpieces of Italian painting. From Raphael to Mantegna to the romantic Hayez, the exhibition project celebrates the growing interest of the Chinese public in our artistic heritage.
“This exhibition is a wonderful example of the richness and versatility of the Italian genius. At at time still strongly marked by the pandemic, our Chinese friends will thus be able to experience a bit of Italy directly in Shanghai,” said Luca Ferrari, Ambassador of Italy to the People’s Republic of China.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Italian Embassy in the People’s Republic of China and the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai.
